Jojo suddenly got up from his bed looking confused. “Anong oras na ba?”, he muttered as he rushed to take a shower.
“Isakay niyo na ang mga gamit ni Tatay sa jeep ni Mang Caloy baka mahuli sa byahe si Tatay”, Cynthia, the eldest daughter of Nanay Tess and Tatay Edu, said.
At the airport….
“Jojo, bantayan mong mabuti ang nanay at ate mo ha. Ikaw lang ang lalaki sa bahay ngayon. Asahan kita, anak ha. 2 years lang naman ulit ako mawawala. Tatay Edu told his son, Jojo.
Tatay Edu to Nanay Tess, “Mag-ingat kayo parati nga mga bata ha.
According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the number of OFWs who worked abroad at any time during the period April to September 2019 was estimated at 2.2 million. The total remittance sent by OFWs during the period April to September 2019 was estimated at PHP211.9 billion.
Sadly, not all OFW stories reach a happy ending. Who can they turn to for their safety and protection? At ngayong may global pandemic, who can help ease their fears and worries when they’re miles away from their loved ones?
After two years, Tatay Edu was asked to renew his contract for another couple of years. Before his new contract ended, he got terminally ill. Good thing, Tatay Edu had OFW Balik Manggagawa Insurance that helped take care of his hospitalization expenses while he was abroad.
Paramount’s OFW Balik-Manggagawa Insurance is designed to protect every Filipino worker abroad during hospitalizations, illegal dismissal, accidents occurred at the job site, untimely demise and many more.
Due to his condition, the doctor advised Tatay Edu to send one of his family members to Saudi Arabia to assist and take care of him while he was confined. Thankfully, his OFW Balik-Manggagawa Insurance, with its Compassionate Visit coverage, made way for Nanay Tess to personally take care of her husband.
Tatay Edu’s family was more than grateful for all the benefits that OFW Balik-Manggagawa Insurance had provided them, especially when Tatay Edu needed to be sent back to the Philippines. They were able to avail of its Medical Repatriation Benefit.
As an OFW, it is important to secure a dependable insurance plan that can keep you and your loved ones at peace and assure your family’s financial stability in case something unexpected happens while you work in another country.
Paramount’s OFW Balik-Manggagawa Insurance gives our Filipino workers abroad more benefits than a regular insurance provider.
As we celebrate our national heroes this August, let’s remember to also acknowledge and appreciate the heroism of our Filipino workers abroad. Paramount wishes to thank all the seafarers, healthcare providers, plant and machine operators and assemblers, technicians and associate professionals, craft and trade workers, hospitality workers, domestic helpers, lahat ng mga gaya ni Tatay Edu, for all their hard work and sacrifices.
